1. Service Description

Discovery China operates as a medical tourism facilitation and wellness retreat company. We connect UK residents with accredited hospital diagnostic facilities and luxury Yangtze River cruise experiences in the People's Republic of China.

Our all-inclusive VIP package ("the Package") includes, but is not limited to:

The Package does not include international flights to and from China, travel insurance, or any treatment procedures beyond the diagnostic and wellness elements listed above. Specific inclusions are confirmed in writing prior to travel.

2. Eligibility

The Discovery China Package is available to:

We reserve the right to decline or postpone a booking if, following the initial consultation, we determine that the requested diagnostic or wellness services are not suitable for the individual. In such cases, the deposit is fully refunded.

Discovery China does not provide emergency medical care, surgical treatment, or inpatient hospital stays as part of the Package.

3. Deposit & Payment

To secure a place on the Discovery China VIP Package, a holding deposit of £200 is required at the time of booking. This deposit is processed securely through Stripe.

The remaining balance of the Package price is due no later than 60 days before the confirmed travel date. Failure to complete full payment within this window will result in cancellation and forfeiture of the deposit, except as stated in Section 4 below.

Payment of the full Package price constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions in their entirety.

All prices are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of applicable taxes. The Package price is locked at the rate confirmed in your written booking confirmation.

4. Cancellation & Refund Policy

4.1 Non-Refundable Deposit

Due to the immediate financial commitments made to accredited hospitals and Yangtze River cruise lines upon your booking, all deposits (£200) are non-refundable except where required by applicable UK law. Initiating a fraudulent bank chargeback for a validly secured booking may result in cancellation of all medical appointments and submission of digital consent logs to your credit card issuer.

By checking the consent box on our deposit payment page, you explicitly acknowledge and agree to this policy. Discovery China records the date, time, IP address, and browser information at the moment of consent as evidence for dispute resolution purposes.

4.2 Full Package Cancellation

If you cancel the full package after paying the deposit but before full payment:

If you cancel after full payment has been made:

4.3 Discovery China Cancellation

In the unlikely event that Discovery China cancels your booking due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (force majeure, including but not limited to pandemics, natural disasters, government travel restrictions, or hospital partner closures), you will receive a full refund of all monies paid, including the £200 deposit.

4.4 Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law. Where applicable law requires a refund in circumstances not covered by our cancellation policy, we will honour that obligation. See also Section 8 (UK Consumer Rights).

4.5 Chargeback Policy

Important notice regarding chargebacks: If you initiate a payment dispute (chargeback) with your bank or credit card provider for a deposit that was taken in accordance with these Terms & Conditions — specifically for a booking that was validly confirmed and where no entitlement to a refund exists — Discovery China reserves the right to: (a) immediately cancel all associated medical appointments and cruise reservations; (b) submit to your card issuer the timestamped digital consent record (including IP address, browser information, and explicit acknowledgement of the non-refundable nature of the deposit) as evidence that the payment was authorised and the policy was accepted; and (c) pursue recovery of costs incurred as a result of the fraudulent dispute.

5. Medical & Health Disclaimer

Discovery China facilitates access to diagnostic and wellness services. We are not a healthcare provider, and the diagnostics, reports, and recommendations provided by our hospital partners do not constitute a clinical diagnosis or medical advice under UK law.

All diagnostic results and medical reports produced by our hospital partners should be reviewed with your UK-based general practitioner or specialist before any treatment decisions are made. Discovery China accepts no liability for decisions made on the basis of diagnostic reports provided as part of the Package.

Participants with pre-existing medical conditions are advised to consult their GP prior to travel. It is your responsibility to disclose relevant medical information during the pre-travel consultation.

Discovery China strongly recommends that all participants obtain comprehensive travel and medical insurance that covers medical evacuation, trip cancellation, and overseas treatment costs. Discovery China cannot arrange or take responsibility for insurance on behalf of participants.
